Performance Audit: Identifying Growth Leaks in Active Campaigns
01. The Challenge
Working with various UAE-based brands during my internship, I observed that many were spending high budgets but seeing stagnant ROI. My task was to act as a “Marketing Doctor”—to audit their existing Meta and Google Ads setups and find exactly where the money was being wasted.
02. The Audit Framework
I analyzed the accounts using a three-step forensic approach:
- The Creative Audit: Identifying “Creative Fatigue” where ads had been running for too long and the Click-Through Rate (CTR) had dropped.
- The Technical Audit: Checking for Audience Overlap (where two ads were competing for the same person, driving up costs) and Pixel/API tracking errors.
- The Landing Page Audit: Analyzing the journey after the click. I identified that high drop-off rates were often due to slow loading times or a mismatch between the ad promise and the page content.
03. The Solutions Provided
- Budget Optimization: Recommended shifting 20% of the budget from “Cold Interests” to Retargeting high-intent website visitors.
- Placement Cleanup: Removed low-performing “Audience Network” placements that were generating accidental clicks rather than real leads.
- Funnel Alignment: Restructured the account to separate “New User Acquisition” from “Existing Lead Nurturing.”
04. Expected Outcomes
Cost Reduction: A projected 15-20% decrease in Cost Per Result through better technical hygiene.
Scalability: Providing a clear “Roadmap for Scale” so the brands could increase spend without losing profitability.
Data Integrity: Ensuring 100% accurate conversion tracking for better decision-making.
